The World is NOT a Stage

I am overwhelmed by the realization that I could be considered a major threat to individuals in positions of higher authority and power—those who prevent society from becoming aware of the astounding truth behind every system. Yes, these elite people do not want anybody to think beyond what is plainly laid out before us. And coincidentally, my blog happens to be about thinking a lot (read my tagline above), which means I could very well be on their blacklist. :))

I watched two baffling documentary films: Zeitgeist and Zeitgeist: Addendum. The first part delves into conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11, religious myths, an inadequate educational system, and economic fallacies. I certainly admit that these topics are quite heavy for a small thinker like me, and I would not necessarily persuade everyone to watch these documentaries unless they are open-minded enough to receive the staggering ideas and concepts presented by Peter Joseph, the mind behind Zeitgeist. Indeed, if you're easily offended, then do NOT watch it! It presents several theological theories that could alarm religious institutions. In fact, they had already disapproved of the documentary’s public release due to its insensitivity toward religious teachings. (However, if you're familiar with Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code, Zeitgeist presents similar arguments. In that case, watching the first documentary might not be as shocking. Also, both films have been viewed by over 50 million people worldwide.)

What particularly caught my interest was the conspiracy theory surrounding the 9/11 attack, suggesting that the U.S. government itself may have orchestrated it—or at the very least, ignored intelligence reports from allied countries warning about the planned attack. While I do not fully accept the validity of this theory about the catastrophic event that claimed thousands of lives, I still find it intellectually stimulating to consider. Hence, I leave this one for your judgment. (If you're not interested in the theological theories, you can skip that part and go straight to the next section of the first documentary.)

The second documentary, Zeitgeist: Addendum, serves as an in-depth follow-up. However, this one focuses on the monetary system and how true human progress could be achieved by shifting from our current socioeconomic paradigm to a natural resource-based system. What I found particularly striking was the idea that behind all the intimidating economic figures lies a simple truth: money = debt, and debt = money. This was so compelling that I finally understood the invisible slavery we unknowingly submit to—working endlessly just to earn money, which keeps us trapped in the cycle.

Have you ever wondered how money was created in the first place and what kind of system it operates within? This sequel documentary is a must-watch to comprehend the reality behind what seemingly makes our world go round—money. Admit it or not, we all need it. We strive for it. We survive because of it. But would you believe that, given abundant resources and advancing technology, if we took proper care and management of these, we would eventually realize that money is no longer relevant? The Venus Project, also featured in this documentary, presents an ideal concept of how our natural resources and technology can sustain human development. I support this project because I believe it poses a major threat to the greedy and powerful authorities who view it as the ultimate end of their domination.

Watching these documentaries opened up a whole new perspective for me. However, this does not mean I fully support all of Peter Joseph's ideas. Rather, they have educated me with a different view, allowing me to weigh my thoughts more critically. What truly impacted me was the call for a consolidation of our ideas and knowledge. With the most ideal educational system, we should be learning everything that helps us reach our highest potential—our greatest contribution to human development. (You can start playing your part now by gathering information, thinking a lot, and contemplating deeper.)

Finally, the film emphasizes that love should prevail in each of us, and from that, every good thing will follow.

By the way, Peter Joseph has released a third documentary titled Zeitgeist: Moving Forward, which I have yet to watch. I’ll be sure to share my thoughts on it next time. :)
